IN THE HEART
OF A TROPICAL PARADISE

1st in Guadeloupe
4th in the Caribbean

If there's a tropical paradise of a thousand colors, it's in the Jardin de Valombreuse...

Nestled in a lush valley in the "green" commune of Petit-Bourg, the Jardin de Valombreuse is the work of a passionate gardener, Madame Magguy Chaulet. Hurricane Hugo in 1989 destroyed her entire farm, so she decided to create Guadeloupe's first floral park to showcase the island's finest plants.

Designed like a work of art, this enchanting universe reveals the wealth of an exceptional botanical collection: orchids, ferns, hoyas, tillandsias, anthuriums, alpinias, porcelain roses... all enhance the botanical value of the site, amidst century-old trees. Birds are not forgotten either, as a multitude of them find shelter and food here.

As you stroll through this veritable Garden of Eden, you'll become familiar with plants that play an important role in your imagination... through Creole tales, the pharmacopoeias of our grandmothers, magic plants for baths and infusions, thousands of species to admire, and the discovery of over 150 varieties of palm trees!

Water also plays an essential role at Jardin de Valombreuse: Japanese ponds and streams offer visitors a cool, contemplative and romantic break.
